Must See Five Destinations Of The World

If you are planning a holiday these are, in my opinion the must see five travel destinations of the world. Egypt, China, Jordan, Thailand, Hong Kong and here's why.

Number One Is Hong Kong.

If you like to shop, then Hong Kong is the place for you, although there is much more to Hong Kong than just shopping. A stroll along Nathan Road and a visit to the Temple Street market is a must do. Be ready to barter over prices because haggling is all a part of the experience as much as the purchases themselves are.

Despite the fact that Hong Kong is a modern city, it is steeped in tradition around every corner. Make sure not to miss the stunning views at Victoria Peak. Here is a tip, even if it's misty, there are a couple of guys at the top who will take your photo and transpose it onto a picture of what you should see if the weather where not so poor. Another suggest would be a couple of half day trips out to Lantau and Lama Islands. A great way to escape the crowds and craziness that is Hong Kong.

Number Two Is Egypt.

The Valley of the Kings, King Tut, The Pyramids. The list goes on. History and the culture are not the only thing that is great about Egypt, it's the people as well. Egyptians are some of the kindest and most generous people of any country you may visit. They will welcome you into their homes and even if they have only enough for themselves, they will still offer to share it with you.

And a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed is an afternoon on the Nile with an Egyptian felucca captain sailing your boat while the sun sets over the Nile in Luxor is magic.

Number Three Is Jordan.

Jordan. Handily located, if you plan it right you can visit Egypt and Jordan together to make a real trip to remember. Amman is a great city full of atmosphere, Petra is marvelous, but surely the site not to be missed is the Dead Sea. The only ocean in the world where the salt content is that high, you can actually float on top of the water.

This alone makes Jordan a must see country and on top of what I have already mentioned, don't forget the Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Jerash and the Kings Highway. A week in Jordan is good, but 10 days is better.

Number Four Is China.

China once was not one of the first places that would spring to mind when planning a holiday but after the Beijing Olympics it has become much more popular. Even if you could only afford 7 to 10 days, an itinerary that takes in Shanghai, Beijing, Xian, and a Yangtze River Cruise would be a great introduction to China.

And for an unforgettable experience visit Guilin. Guilin's landscape is amazing and totally unique. It can't necessarily be called Mountainous as such, but the peaks that do rise, rise almost vertically up into the mist.

If you get a chance take a ski lift up to one of the peaks and gaze in awe over the valley, and to get down you can take a toboggan style run of about 3,000 feet in length.

Number Five Is Thailand.

Thailand suffers a little from it's reputation of being a very hedonistic destination and while it is true that there is wild side to Thailand (especially some areas of Bangkok and Phucket etc) there is also an amazing culture to immerse yourself in.

There really is everything there, adventure, culture and even for the not faint hearted, a place about 1 hour north of Thailand where you can go in, yes go in, with real live tigers. No cages, no chains, just you and around a dozen tigers. For me it was a thrill of a lifetime and without doubt it is just one of the many reasons that Thailand is in my top 5 of places you need to visit in the world.
