I haven't used this component in a while but began tinkering with it again.

In one content section, I have over 240 items. Exporting it is slow. Importing cannot be performed, as I receive a timeout, since the importing file is over 3 MB.

Is there a way to export/import individual content items or categories.

To work around this issue, I simply created a temporary or non-published section called "DUMP," and copied the category I wanted to export to this DUMP section. From there, I simply exported the content in DUMP and loaded it into my test site.

Hi Fidel.

Good solution.

In the next release you will be able to compile by section(s) or just static items in an attempt to try and keep the size of each transfer down a bit as the file upload limit can be an issue on some severs.

This is about the best we can do however as the section ID's are needed in the export content table.

You must be referring to Category, right? As in the current version, I am able to export sections from one site.

Thanks.

No I was just letting you know in the next release you will be able to move static items by them selves without the need to select any section(s) it wont solve the problem you were having but should help if someone has a lot of static items as you can compile just the one static item at a time or all of them.
