Export-Import through sql-dump? 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi,
I have a Joomla site wich I totally want tto rebuild from scratch. The only thing I want to use from the old site is the content.

I tried using your com_export, and it works great, but I have some troubles with the special characters, such as the underscore and the Euro sign.

Because I'm beginning from scratch, is it possible to dump the tables _categories / _content / _content_frontpage / _content_rating and
_sections from the old site and import then with php-admin in the new site.

Surely I tried this, and it looks like it works fine, no troubles with the special characters.
But I don't know if I'm missing something else?

I really apreciate your comment.

Thanks,
Erik

If you have moved content and there is only a few characters causing problems you may want to have a look here.

Replace characters

As to moving content using phpadmin this will depend on whether you are moving to Joomla 1.0+ series site or 1.5+ series because there are changes that need to be made.
An example is the tag in the 1.5+ series proper
