Hi nikolas22t,

Could you give me the following details:
What versions of Joomla are you using on the source and destination sites?
What language is the content in?
Have you tried compiling just the one static item to see if it works?

Please check that you have the correct version of export content installed:
Export Content 1.7.0 is for Joomla 1.0+ series.
Export Content 2.0.0 is for Joomla 1.5+ series.
Export Content 1.0.0 is for Mambo.

Please check that these are writable 777 on both sites:
administrator/components/com_export_content/img/...
administrator/components/com_export_content/zip/...
administrator/components/com_export_content/new_version/...

If all the above is correct and it is another language other than English or has copy/paste MSword.
It might be one or more characters that the Joomla installer is choking on which will require a small patch to fix.

I am using 1.0.15 on both sites
the language is Greek
I think that is the problem since i see that the file in it is encoded in iso-8859-1 and not utf-8 as the site is

Has the database of the source site been changed to utf8 encoding?
