Hi jazzking2001

Please check that :
/administrator/components/com_export_content/zip/...
/administrator/components/com_export_content/img/...
/administrator/components/com_export_content/new_version/...

Are all writable 777 and then re-compile the data.

It sounds like you have got a file ownership issue.
Head on over to the Joomla extension site and grab eXtplorer it should allow you to change permissions.

If you want to learn more about file ownership do a search on the Joomla forums there should be a lot of information about it.

Re:Cant not export sections 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
well it seems that i dont have some of those files

i do have /administrator/components/com_export_content/zip/ import_content_data.zip
i changed the permission to 777

however the files in /administrator/components/com_export_content/new_version/
are not there at all

i have these files instead

uninstall.mysql.utf.sql
uninstall.import1.5_data.php
install.import1.5_data.php
import1.5_data.xml
import1.5_data.php

i am using joomla 1 not 1.5

It still sounds like you have file ownership issues.
Try making everything in /administrator/components/com_export_content/... 777

And then FTP all the export content files again and over write the old ones.

Then re-compile the data.

Yes that's because nothing has been compiled due to the permission issue

You need to make all export content files writable (777) and then re-FTP all the Export Content files over the ones that are there now just to make sure none have been corrupted and then re-compile the data.

Re-complie simply means choose the data you want to move and press the compile button at the top.

Please check out the screen shots in the left menu of this site to get a better understanding of how it works.
Note: The screen shots are of an older version but it is still works basiclly the same.

If you are trying to move data from Joomla 1.0+ series to Joomla 1.5+ series please make sure you have the correct versions of Export Content installed.

version 1.7 is for Joomla 1.0+
version 2.0 is for Joomla 1.5+
version 1.0 is for Mambo.
