Import Created Time and Date Data 1 Year, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
One thing I have noticed to be very valuable is to import the created time and date data. After an import, it is diffucult to distinguish or visually filter content by date, since date data does not exist.

All created dates should be importing successfully in Beta 1.6.

Dates in Archived items 1 Year, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
Date is OK for non-archived articles.

But, archived articles does not contains any dates information.

I can un-archive all articles on my site, but it would be much better if there could be dates info in exported xml file.
Since I am talking about 600+ archived articles, I hope that you can suggest me what to do

All other works fine in 1.6 Beta + Joomla 1.0.12.

Hi and welcome montemedia

Have these archived articles been moved before using an earlier version of export content?

If so the date information may not have been included as this was a bug prior to version 1.6.
So when you attempt to move it again the dates will still be missing.

If this is not the case please let me know and I will look into it further.

Hello Steve...

Here is situation:

In last year, I am running news portal, and archiving articles every month.

Yesterday, I tried for the first time your component.

Export was successful, import was with some minor time-of-execution problems, but there was no date in archived files.

Today I checked xml file: there are date info in every article, but not appearing in archived items upon import. Items are going to archive, but withot date (so I can not sort my archive by months, for example).

Compliments for your work.

Re: Import Created Time and Date Data 1 Year, 9 Months ago Karma: 3
Hi montemedia

I have run a few tests and all the dates seem fine.

I imported and transferred a few archived items and all dates were successfully moved into the archive manger list.
I then created a section and category archive links in the main menu and tested the date dropdown boxes which worked as expected.

I then published the archive module which also worked correctly.

One thing I did notice is that when accessing archives via the archive module there is no date dropdown available I don't know whether that is the way it is suppose to work or not.

That said I do realise that the archived items do not display in Export Content Component under "Insert Content Items" in the content items list.
Although they are still transferred when moving by section(s) or category(s)

This will be fixed this in the next release so that archived items will have a different icon in the published/unpublished column so archived items may be selected individually.

However if the dates are not displaying in the archive manager can you check the database via "PHPmyAdmin" (jos_content->created field ) to see if the dates were moved successfully and if they were it may be a problem with Joomla.
What version of Joomla are you using?

Hello again, Steve

First of all, thanks for trying.

I checked my jos_content table: all dates are 00:00:00 but modified (showing date and time of importing).

I am using Joomla 1.0.12. on local computer, with newest xampp.

What is your verison of Joomla? Maybe I should try with older one (that is fine with me - later I can upgrade to actual Joomla). I will instal, say, 1.0.8, and inform you about result.

Thanks.

Export Content has been tested on 1.0.11 and 1.0.12.

I can not reproduce your problem all archive dates transfer as expected in all my tests.

In the next release there will be an option to transfer archived items separately so that should resolve the trouble you are having.

I received your PM

Are other content item dates being transferred correctly?
I realise that archived items are not visible in the content list therefore can not be selected but still transfer when moving by category(s) or section(s).

I will try to do some more testing, on brand new instalation of J 1.0.12 and brand new content.

Other items are imported with date information.
Yes, archived items are not visible on the list for choosing which article to upload, and they are not uploaded when I choose "select all".

They are uploaded when I choose "Import category" or "Import section", together with non-archived items.
In "Import content" I have only non-archived items.

Do you want to try with my import_content_data.zip? I can upload it to some server and send you URL on PM.

EDITED: Some misunderstanding.
