Download Export Content Component

It is very important to make sure that you install the correct version of Export Content on the version of Joomla or Mambo that it was designed for.

Once you have installed the correct version(s) on the source and destination sites you will then be able to compile data to move from one site to another.
All compiled data should be installed just like any other component and will populate the transfer menus of the Export Content component, which will then allow you to import / transfer the data into the site content tables.

The reason for setting it up this way was so that after importing the data you will have various options of how to move it into the site, allowing you to structure the content in anyway you see fit. For example you might want to move a few categories into a different section or you may want to create new sections etc.

Note: You are also able to edit the section/category or content item titles and body content before importing them. This may be needed if there are sections with the same name or you simply need to make changes for whatever reason.

Following are the versions released as of 10th Febuary 2009 and the Joomla/Mambo versions they should be installed on:
